Renovation Reality Check: The Hidden Truths of Renovating Your Home

In just one hour, you'll unlock the secrets of how the renovation industry really works, and how this broken system punishes homeowners through insane pricing, timeline delays, broken promises, and budget blowouts.

Plus...I'll tell you how to avoid the problems and set yourself up for success.

Join me to discover the essential renovation lessons that most people learn the hard way.

This session will teach you how to think and act differently so that you can finally get that functional, renovated home of your dreams.

In this value-packed training, you'll discover:

1️⃣ The typical renovation paths and why they don't work. I'll break this down into:
a) typical ways most people make mistakes on their renovations, and
b) why most renovations go over budget and timelines become distant memories

2️⃣ The three different types of contractors you can hire and how to choose the right one for your project.

3️⃣ What you need to give a contractor so that they can actually price your project and do their job

4️⃣ The things contractors are actually saying about you and how they judge you as a client (it's eye opening)

🎉 Plus, you'll get a special gift at the end of class to say thanks for coming! 🎁

What you'll get in this class:

✅ An insider peek into what conversations and realities are happening amongst the "professionals" you're hiring. You won't find this content anywhere else.

✅ A path you can follow if you're ready to get off the delay and overspending bus and finally get that reno your home needs

✅ A chance to ask me questions at the end. This is live, and I'll open up the floor for ANY questions, about the material I'm teaching or just about your own situation or renovation. Bring them on.

What you WON'T get in this class:

❌ A long, drawn-out story of me and why I'm equipped to teach this class.
I've done several renovations the hard way and one (huge one) the better way. I've lived it...both the good and the bad. I've made the mistakes.
BUT - I'm a Project Manager by trade, and so after the bad experiences, I developed a process for how to do it better...because that's what Project Managers do. It's how our minds work.
So I used my own framework in my recent renovation, and it went incredibly well, PLUS I saved over $150,000 compared to the "traditional" methods I'll tell you about in this class. And I got super premium finishes, so the money wasn't saved on the finishes—it was saved on the process. I've been where you are and I know the red flags in the system that will screw you over.

❌ Fluff, slow talking, filler words, and general B.S. I'm going to cram as much information as I can into one hour.

❌ A pitch for my products and services. Obviously I also sell programs that will help you but I'm not using this class—that you're paying to attend—to sell them to you. That would be very unfair.

❌ Generic renovation info or anything about DIYing the construction (I don't believe that's necessary or even a good idea in most cases)

“People need to hear this and take it seriously.”

“I attended your renovation planning info session and—no kidding—it brought me to tears. I know that sounds dramatic, but in my first renovation (before I found you), I made all the mistakes you told us not to make, and my project went as you'd expect…74k over budget, and I still have regrets. It was awful.

I was shocked by just how accurate this info session was. People need to hear this and take it seriously if they want a great renovation. Just wanted to share. Thank you for everything you do.”

- Samantha Kelly (Homeowner, Chicago)

Are you nervous about your upcoming renovation, and seeking a way to avoid the budget blowouts, overwhelm and regret that most people experience?

This is the class for you.

A Note from Karen...

If you want to renovate your home in the next 5 years, then you don't want to skip this info session. It will be the most impactful 60 minutes of your life for determining whether your renovation will be just like the other horror stories you hear, or a remarkable tale of success.

There are two pays to pay for anything in this world. You can pay with your money, or you can pay with your time and effort. The Barn Cat Renovations mission is to show you which activities are best to DIY with your effort, and which are best to pay for so that you can optimize your budget on your home (where you'll see the most value!).

You will leave this info session with a clear path forward and a new perspective — I guarantee it!

See you there!
